Kaare Vedvik

The doink story of Kaare Vedvik in 2 chapters.

Chapter 1
In 2018, Norwegian rookie undrafted kicker Kaare Vedvik looked the part of a starting NFL kicker. Kaare went 9 of 9 on extra points and 8 of 9 on field goals, and his lone miss was from 50+. He completed an impressive preseason, wherein his worst kick against the visiting Redskins was an extra point that bounced in off the upright. In the days following this game, Kaare was the victim of an off-the-field assault, which led to him missing the remainder of his rookie year on the non-football injury list. His 2018 preseason got off to a promising start as well, leading to him being traded from the Ravens to the Vikings. Kaare spent 2 preseason games in Minnesota before ultimately being waived after being unable to re-capture the magic of his rookie year.
Chapter 2
Kaare Vedvik ended up on the Jets for the 2019 season opener, where he went 0 for 1 on field goals and 0 for 1 on extra points (the doink recorded here). Following the game, he was waived again and has not played a down in the NFL since (but has been on several practice squads). This game is the swan song of the Kaare Vedvik's short career that turned a promising start into a what if. Vedvik looks shaken in his performance against the Bills, and he left 4 points on the board in a game the Jets lost by 1.
