Jets
The doink story of the Jets in 4 chapters.
Chapter 1
The kick that sent the game to OT was a clean make. The doink was nullified by a called timeout in an attempt to ice that kicker that seriously backfired.

Chapter 2
If there was ever an instance that warranted a disputed doink label, this would be a strong candidate. The kick itself, a short-range field goal from 23 yards was partially blocked and deflected. The ball actually made it through the uprights "cleanly" (those quotes are doing heavy lifting here), and as it's finishing its trajectory, the ball hits the outside of the bottom of the goalpost. Mechanically, this kick is similar to the legendary Dawson rule-changing doink against Baltimore - the ball left the field of play and would technically be a dead ball at time of doink. Given that the Dawson kick is considered to be an iconic doink, the precedent set should be read as a kick is counted as a doink if it hits the upright at any point following its trajectory, whether or not the ball is live. Folk's deflected chip shot is a litmus test of this interpretation.
Chapter 3
Ross Martin is one of the only entrants to this site who is a true kicker with 0 career attempts outside of the preseason. For statistical purposes, this doink is tracked by us, but since it's preseason, none of these stats count in the official books. Ross Martin, you may not be in the annals of NFL history, but we see you, and we salute your contributions to the game.
Chapter 4
Kaare Vedvik ended up on the Jets for the 2019 season opener, where he went 0 for 1 on field goals and 0 for 1 on extra points (the doink recorded here). Following the game, he was waived again and has not played a down in the NFL since (but has been on several practice squads). This game is the swan song of the Kaare Vedvik's short career that turned a promising start into a what if. Vedvik looks shaken in his performance against the Bills, and he left 4 points on the board in a game the Jets lost by 1.
